Default Want faster internet? Loony's tutorial

    So im bored...

I saw a fail post of Name bench supposedly making your internet faster it made me laugh...

So here we go with steps...

    First we run namebench..

Get the best dns and add it to your dns settings... Remember this is step 1.. Now move to 2 when your done....

Are you a power-user with 5 minutes to spare? Do you want a faster internet experience?
Try out namebench. It hunts down the fastest DNS servers available for your computer to use. namebench runs a fair and thorough benchmark using your web browser history, tcpdump output, or standardized datasets in order to provide an individualized recommendation. namebench is completely free and does not modify your system in any way. This project began as a 20% project at Google.
namebench runs on Mac OS X, Windows, and UNIX, and is available with a graphical user interface as well as a command-line interface.

    Code:
    http://code.google.com/p/namebench/
    Step 2...

Lets kill those gay ass ads and shit that wastes are pointless bandwith..
Fuck no im not talking about a ad remove app.. Those are shitty worthless apps...

Yes you read that right lets make your internet not suck as much...

Also yes not 127.0.0.1 we are useing 0.0.0.0 but if you want to be a fag and fuck up and use a slower protocol go with 127.0.0.1

The point of useing 0.0.0.0 is that all os's are programmed with 127.0.0.1 as a serving ip. which makes it "always" check for services running but with 0.0.0.0 its a strict deny all protocol meaning it wont check for anything.

    Code:
    http://someonewhocares.org/hosts/zero/
    Step 3..... (windows only)

If your a old school internet use you have used this before...

This will configure your windows to use the best calculated configs for your tcp stack meaning it will calculate the right limits to allow full use of your internet... (wireless users might not see a huge improvement)

This can be reverted so dont worry..

To use this go to any speedtest and find the fastest download your connection can get and once you have found the average download speed subtract atleast 500kbps from it then move the slider to the best spot closes to the number you got... Press pppoe if your on dsl (non cable) only... if your on cable dont bother leave it as is... now press the optimal radio button and press ok then restart your pc...

    Code:
    http://www.speedguide.net/files/TCPOptimizer.exe
    Step 4....

This is very important... Most people do not understand ALL BROWSERS waste time trying to search for browser cached files... So it is important you run all options ONCE A WEEK... That means clean your browser.. Run the reg cleaner... and anything else this app uses...

    Code:
    http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
That is mostly it for now i have others that i do but it is not for the average user and takes alot more time.. I might post another detailed tutorial...

If you follow my tutorial in this exact steps then you will see a major improvement in speeds... If you do not want to do all of this i suggest move to linux

THIS will not make your internet litterally faster but it will force your connection to max out 24/7 as it takes those limits away
