domain name and unmanaged vps

i am new to this stuff so help me.....

i got my vps with an ip address , with debian 6.0 , LAMP is already installed as said by my host....

there is no control panel installed , only ssh access..

how do i assign my domain name to the ip address ..

If you are using debian i would suggest directadmin. Here is a link for the instal instructions.

You don't need either a control panel or a dns server; use a third-party dns solution such as:

cloudflare.com
lowendtalk.com/wiki/free-dns-providers <- good list of free dns here 

Cloudflare works great and is free. Sign up, add your domain and follow the instructions; you'll need to point an 'A' record to your IP at least.

DirectAdmin isn't free. VPS licence is around $5-$10 if you buy from a reseller.

I doubt unmanaged provider would install and manage LAMP for you. If there is no control panel, and you can't install LAMP yourself I guess you can't manage the VPS as well.

no , i got the os from the os template , so lamp came preinstalled

and yes i am not able to manage the vps myself............thats why its called learning..its my first time for any vps....thats why i am asking you guys and google

used cloudflare and got my domain to work !!

but www.mydomain.com not working , only mydomain.com working ..

should i configure apache or cloudflare ??

It sounds like you need a managed vps provider, is there a reason you didnt go with one?
