I won't be going over the whole process but here's thing in nutshell that you want:

1. You build a website: a wordpress/blogspot blog or a standalone website.
2. Add unique content to it to make it standout.
3. Garner visitors via different means; spreading the news about your site or buying them.
4. Monetize the website via ads, cpm, cpa, affiliate marketing, etc.
5. Auction the website/domain when you no longer need it.
