    It begins...
Definitely worth the price you paid.

I paid about $530 for these specs:
    Samsung R578
    Intel Core i3 380 @ 2.53GHz
    3GB RAM
    320GB HDD
    ATI Mobility Radeon 5470

You're paying 300 odd dollars for specs that are a LOT better (almost twice as good). Not a bad deal; I'd get one too. Where'd you buy it from?

more HDD space, the more spins it has to make, the more heat. ... 500gbs is plenty for a laptop.

it would have been better to just get a shitty laptop good for only a year or 2, there are gonna be LOADS of new technology in the coming year. hell in a year you will probably be able to get a tablet at that price and with those specs.
KWWH has turned gay. I will not return until Phamous is demoted.

You have to keep an eye out for deals, Sometimes older techs the best.

I got the following for free,

Cpu is crap but all in all it's a solid laptop for nothing.

I also have this which cost me ?100 (Was missing a hardrive and the power jack had snapped off inside which i fixed for nothing .),

So yeah, There is good deals if you know where to look.

That asus is out of date by a lot. The i7 that is used is 1st generation i7. 3rd generation is coming out this quarter. At least get a sandy bridge (2nd gen). With the release of 3rd gen processors the 2nd gen ones should drop substantially. Sandy bridge uses a lot less juice and pushes out more power.
Look for the i7 2630 is what the latest Asus includes. Prices dropped a lot during black friday and christmas via newegg.
