No they wont be able to control your computer and it's safe.

No they cant control your local PC. unless you are on static ip and you post around your local pc ip, username and password.

but all i can say is RDP users are usually not dumb.

Yes, its completely safe to use RDP. The RDP owner can't control your PC with that.
