Optimize MySQL - MySQLTuner
Hiya guys, if any of you own a dedicated server and want to reduce the MySQL load hopefully I can help. Before doing the following steps it is advised to have had the MySQL service running for at least 24 hours, preferred 48 hours +
CentOS:
Download MySQLTuner:
Code:wget http://mysqltuner.com/mysqltuner.pl
Code:chmod 755 mysqltuner.pl
Code:./mysqltuner.pl
Code:/etc/my.cnf

Yes. As long as you have root, you can run MySQLTuner. Excellent program, and works a fucking treat when you need to optimize your SQL.

mysql cpu load is 465% at the moment.
I ran mysqltuner and it pointed a few issues - I'll report back and tell you if they helped reduce the load
update: didn't do me any favours. I know it's probs the php running - many crawlers - just a shame that they use so much load
