How to Stop Spamming in Search Box? | About Recent Searches

Hello,

As you might have noticed that some users / bots type their website name or anything in the search box so that it could be added in the recent searches thing at the bottom of our site.

Is there any way to stop this kinda of thing? I know its hard to fix that but still maybe there is some solution for this? Or should we remove this Module?

Get v5 ( U can delete them in acp ) maybe censore those words? Don?t know if it works

Same type of shit spam in my site too.
I had deleted them once all the keywords but they once agained spammed.

I would modify the module once, heres what you can do:

• Make module check if the keywords is a url through regex
• Make it add only keywords that are less then x (70) characters in length
• Add the sites words to the arayand deny adding it keywords contains any word in the array

i have v5 but you can also delete spam recent search from phpmyadmin and how you stop i dont know but in v5 you can control all these from dle

I know that thing but i need something permanent. It is very hard to delete one by one as they come again and starting spamming.
