This is kinda hard to answer...there is no such like best for everyone..One which works for you is best...I mean, theme can be modified as per need (if you know how to)..however, Neat & clean theme are best for adult site..there are Adult Wp theme for sell..you can check out at adulttemplatesevolution.com..
I will recommend 2 column or 3 column theme are best for adult site.
Just remember...Make your theme clean & easy to navigate..tht's what I call Best.
