Site style review/feedback please...

I've been working on a new site design ==> http://mobiezine.com/ -- Obviously as of November 11, 2011 - the site is a work in progress. There's a LOT of content that needs to be added, but I'd love your thoughts on the design customization thus far:



Good work? Horrible work? Meh...? ((hopefully no mehs LOL))

Anyway. Suggestions on bettering the design will be appreciated. So...

Looks nice actually, a little bit more work is needed on the navbar and header though.

Thanks guys - The header and navbar is reworked actually - original design was slightly different, but the revisions as seen now were requested by client.

Just out of curiosity though - what sort of modifications would you make Mr-R-T?

Try to stay away from purple. Reminds me of the old black and blue gradient back when html was the thing.

Design is good, Wouldn't use so much gloss on the sidebar but then again its just my opinion.

Soft light gradients is in, Gloss is totally 3 years ago.

Thanks - the purple is as per client request. The theme had to be purple, black, grey. I wanted a distinctive header for the sidebar since the main content area is pretty bare. May consider a gradient instead... Thanks for suggestion
