How-to: Create a Hotmail alias

A so-called e-mail alias is an alternate email address that leads to the same inbox as another existing address. Microsoft has now opened for you to create and attach up to 5 email aliases per year to your Hotmail account and up to 15 aliases in total.

There are many reasons to create an alias. One of them may be that you have an email address consisting of your name, and would in some contexts to be more anonymous, without having to have a separate email account for the purpose.

To create a Hotmail alias, you should click this link. You will probably be asked for your username and password. When it is entered, simply enter the desired alias.



When your new alias is accepted, you will be asked which folder you want the email sent to this address to end up.

does it have to be hotmail or can it go hotmail >> gmail email?

I can choose between 3 different emails, but it depends on what country you're from.
