How filehost generate money on ads?

I just want to know if they can survive if they have a ads on every download page when someone download to their links, and if its enough to pay their affiliates aside from the downloader who buys premium from them.

CTR on download pages is terrible - don't think it'd be sustainable in long run, if you only use ads, without premium.

^^ Offcourse everyone prefer host without ads
But if the host provides good download speed and other features over other hosts then people prefer to use host

Eg: Mediafire has ads but even though people prefer it over FSO
