how to permanently delete data from hdd

hello friends,
i want to know that how we can permanently delete erase data from hdd because i am going to sale my portable hdd to some. So i want to permanently erase all data from hdd that someone can't recover data from hdd in future.

this cd has a built in government erase method as most people call it 7-pass format..

Say your hdd is 100mb if you want to do a 7-pass erase.. Instead of doing a quick format you would do the long full format..

It will write 0's into your entire hdd space and then repeat 7 times until all data is physically removed...

just do a basic format.. they are probably to stupid to find out how to recover data.

Just Full format 3 or 2 times , it will be fully erased..

Don't forget to Break the Partitions too... Also Low Level formatting/Zero Filling Drive will make impossible to recover the Data...Hiren's Boot CD has got the app OR google it, you will find many tools...but Remember it will take LONG time to do that, depending on your HDD Size.
