Another feature I use: By pressing the "Show", "Add user interface" and "web interface", you can start VLC on the Android mobile phone and stream over the internal network (home network) the media files you have on your PC.

VLC is quite simply the worst media player when it comes to video quality but I find the ability to play videos in rar files useful sometimes.

How bout winamp? Idk, I consider VLC my video player rather then anything else. Just like people consider Foobar2000 a good music ripper and iTunes to sync your iPod/iPhone/iPad.

Here's one more for you guys

You can use VLC to webcam streaming using input source 'Capture Device' and a http port as a target. Then you can connect with the phone wherever YOU are and see how the dog has it at home, or whatever animal you got lol
