Does anyone have any tips for getting traffic to a proxy site?

Scroll down to the "Bold listing" option, it sends quite a bit of traffic a day 300+ and the price isn't too expensive can certainly be remade easily with effective ads on the site.

Effective ads, i persume google adsense?

submit your proxy site to as many "proxy lists" and get listed your proxy on them . that way you can get traffic very quick

@3ROk3N yeah I have been doing that, just finding them with google hasnt resulted in much yet, ~1-2 uniques a day.

@Loget: just bought it will keep everyone updated on how it goes.

First, what's the URL? Are there any keywords in the URL itself?

Some suggestions and example:

1. Link to the proxy site from as many high google-PR sites as you can, with specific keywords (preferrably the same keywords as in the URL).
2. Put those same keywords in comment tags (<!-- -->), in image alt tags, and a few places on the page itself (don't overdo it). Just make sure that the keyword WEIGHT is higher than other words on the page.

Example: http://www.anony-surf.com/
I have linked into this site from 2 PR4 sites, using the keywords "anony surf". There aren't too many words on the page itself, but I have those keywords in the page with a positive weight.
Googlebot indexes the page and it receives 500 - 800 raw hits/day (250+ uniques/day) from Google -- which is valuable, because they are "targetted" hits!

deblocked.info is my proxy im working on at the moment, my other has no keywords in the url as its a 3 letter domain.

Ill make a better design today that will be able to be seo'ed a bit better. I hope you dont mind I got some insipration from your proxy.
