Default Can someone sue me if...

Can someone sue me if someone sells an opensource script but modified and I sell it? I'm saying that I got a script from another source and sells it?

An example is a open source script which is available for free.
Person1 modifies it and placed additional features of the free script.
Me got his script and tries to sell it.

What if I'm not the one who modified it, I just got it off someone who like cracked it privately and I will be selling it.

That isn't so serious, so matter probably wouldn't go to court. However, if you live by any codex thing that you're thinking about doing would be against it.

Thanks for your reply SuicidalMedia and all. I appreciate it

    SuicidalMedia,
What do you mean codex thing?

An example is a open source script which is available for free.
Person1 modifies it and placed additional features of the free script.
Me got his script and tries to sell it.

    Is this really big?

By codex I mean the one you live by - the rules. Like, you won't make money of other's people misery, you won't fuck anyone up the ass in the process, and you certainly won't make money of a script that has been released for free and that can help you in the money making process (as the platform of your website) , that's about it.

It depends on the developer. If he's a stubborn motherfucker, it's quite possible that he will hunt you down and sue the fuck out of you.

When you Google him out you'll know the answer.
