It does not go to prove a thing so it is useless to have.

I'd vote for nothing, but if I had to pick one, I'd pick rep. Stupid post get the majority of rep/thanks that just shouldn't get it. Which makes it pointless to have and measures nothing at all. Waste of database space.

But is it necessary to give negative reputation too? Can not we just stick to the positivity? Negative things should be reported to a moderator immediately.

I prefer rep - mostly because I dont like the look of the thanks and it's going to be very annoying to see:

^ I mean thr can be many many instance of one user not liking the post of another user which is actually ok according to rules. Thr must be something to show the displeasure/disappointment
